Who qualifies, how points become tip allocation, and why a post sometimes scores zero.
If you're posting about a tracked community on X, you're already earning points, and points are what turn into your tipping allocation. There is nothing to sign up for and no wallet to connect: everything happens inside the Motion system, and the only on-chain moment is when you claim your tips.

Account at least 30 days old

Each eligible action earns points when the cycle it happened in closes, and your points across the cycle set your tip allocation. Not every action is worth the same: the scoring algorithm weighs what you did, where you did it, and the reach of your profile.
The exact weights are not published, on purpose. A scoring mechanism only works while it can't be gamed, so the algorithm stays private and changes over time.
The usual suspects, in order:
Account too new: under 30 days old.
Too few followers: under 25.
Duplicate text: the words match a post already scored, ever. Swapping a link or emoji on a copy-paste won't get past it.
Already counted: same action on the same post, same cycle.
Spam filter: the system flags spam patterns inside every 30-minute window to keep bots out.
On top of the automated filters, the team manually reviews top accounts every week. Bots and spam accounts that slip through are removed from indexing, and their activity stops counting.
Check that you scored: open the leaderboard after a cycle closes and search your handle. Your strongest posts are listed right on your row.
